This specimen represents the combination of topaz and smoky quartz, originating from the famous pegmatite occurrence at Klein Spitzkoppe in the Erongo region of Namibia. The dominant topaz crystal is distinguished by its subtle, pale blue hue, high transparency, and smooth wall faces, which exhibit local reddish-brown coatings of iron oxides. Directly adjacent to it grows dark, sharply terminated smoky quartz, providing a strong color accent against the fragments of the pegmatite matrix. Main features: striking color contrast between the light topaz-quartz assemblage and the dark smoky quartz; high transparency of the topaz; classic paragenesis from Namibia. Condition: Good.
