Its typical associated minerals include braunite, hausmannite, magnetite, hematite, katoptrite, manganostibite, and various garnets (spessartine). ## Localities The most important and classic localities for this mineral are in Sweden, in the Sjögruvan mines (type locality) and Långban in the Värmland region. It is also known from the Kombat mine in Namibia and the Valgraveglia deposit in Italy.
