Its discovery and description are associated with studies of volcanic products from Vesuvius in Italy. ## Applications Due to its rarity, fluoro-edenite has no industrial applications. Specimens from the classic locality, Vesuvius, are particularly sought after. ## Popular Localities Undoubtedly, the most valued and known fluoro-edenite specimens come from the Vesuvius-Somma volcanic complex in Campania, Italy. Specimens from Biancavilla in Sicily are also known, although they often occur as massive fibrous aggregates.

Care and storage

## Cleaning Fluoro-edenite specimens, especially those with a fibrous structure, should be cleaned very carefully. Compressed air is recommended for dust removal. For heavier soiling, a soft brush and distilled water can be used, avoiding strong rubbing that could damage delicate fibers. ## What to Avoid Avoid contact of the mineral with acids and strong chemicals. Fibrous forms are brittle and susceptible to mechanical damage. Specimens should not be exposed to sudden temperature changes. ## Storage It is recommended to store specimens in closed containers or display cases to protect them from dust and mechanical damage.
